Tony Blair Is Wheeled Out Again
Tony Blair has been wheeled out again. And he has been reading our book too! (See page 27). He says “change” is a vacuous political expression. Obviously he doesn’t want change right now, (although are any of us convinced he is really on Gordon’s side?) even though he bandied “change” about a lot when he himself was desirous of power.
Anyway, as we have pointed out, it is too late as Gordon Brown has said this will be “a big choice” election and you can’t really have choice without possible change can you? Or are all these words like choice and change equally empty of meaning?

Unfortunately, by the very nature of the electoral process, as voters, we must accept that this disingenuous tripe will always be rolled out in timely fashion. While Blair’s inclusion is shrewd (impressive ambassador for the country; talented orator etc.), it is a decidedly desperate move by Brown that betrays the precarious nature of his and Labour’s current position.
We must force ourselves to look past this publicity stunt and see it for the smokescreen it is. The proof lies in a comprehensive assessment of labour’s last 13 years in power. Public services are in disarray – healthcare; NHS; education – take your pick. All you’ll find is a trail of poor policy decisions and expensive, broken promises.
