Political Wet-Blankets

It seems Michael Gove for the Tories has been reading our book! Following our suggestion he thinks it would be a good idea to introduce a longer school day and even Saturday school as happens routinely in the independent sector.

However, education authorities and “the powers that be” have poured scorn on this idea already. Too much work for teachers, there’d never be agreement apparently and it can’t be financed during these hard economic times.

Are we in for more of this now? Every time someone has a good idea a naysayer will come up with why it can’t be done and all these wet-blanket damp-facecloth types will flag up the recession again and again as a perfect excuse for ennui and inactivity.
